Well, the truth is, not much, really. The source code has pretty much been sitting here, collecting dust, or maybe aging into a fine wine. Not really sure. Anyways…

Notify – Screenshot tour and a beta release date

I’ve been working to get the beta of Notify v1.0 ready for this weekend.. things still seem to be on track for that, but just in case, here’s a screenshot tour of what I’ve got done so far. As of writing this, the only thing left to do is to implement the preference panes, and fix up a couple of memory leaks.

HandBrake Replacement Icon – Sketches

If you’re on OS X, you’ve probably seem the horror which is the current HandBrake icon. I’ve been using HandBrake for a while now, and have just ignored the icon. Unfortunately, even though I’ve tried to block out the bad icon-ness, it’s just getting too annoying.. so it’s time to make a replacement. Here’s a few of the sketches I’ve been considering.

This is probably the most obvious idea for a replacement HandBrake icon. Basically what you see going on here, is a DVD, acting as the brake caliper in a disk brake. The dark block at the top is the brake shoe. At the bottom we see a rip, because we’re “ripping” the disk. Depending on how this changes, the rip may or may not be there if this is the final design.

Spring has Sprung

Now that we’ve gone through November, December, January, February, and part of March, it’s finally spring! Yay! Most of the snow around here is gone, and everything is slowly changing from grey to green. Awesome.

headerOver the past couple months I haven’t really posted anything, for a number of reasons. The first being I was never really happy with how v3 of my blog design came out. It was my first attempt at making a “rustic” theme, and, well, yeah. Let’s just say the results were less than positive. This lead me to never actually finish off the design, much less the content.
